Sangbad Bhaskar News :On July 5, 2025, the national seminar titled “Leveraging Carbon & Carbon Management for Profitability: Scope and Challenges” was successfully organized at Hotel Park Prime, Kolkata, by Knowgen Education Services Pvt. Ltd. in association with India Power Corporation Ltd

. The seminar brought together prominent figures from industry, academia, research, and government to explore how strategic carbon management can act as a catalyst for both environmental sustainability and business profitability.

The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address from Prof. Rajib Kumar, Director of Knowgen and Co-Chairman of the Organizing Committee.
The inaugural session was enriched by distinguished guests Shri Sridev Mookerjee, Chairman & Group Managing Director of Blossom Group, Singapore (Guest of Honor), and Dr. Raju Basak, Co-Chairman of the Advisory Committee & Chairman,WBSC,IEI who set the tone with insightful observations on the intersection of environmental responsibility and corporate growth.


Suvendu Narayan Roy, Director of Knowgen Education Services Pvt. Ltd., played a pivotal leadership role in conceptualizing and steering the seminar. His strategic direction ensured that the seminar remained solution-oriented and inclusive, offering a collaborative platform for knowledge-sharing and innovation. The technical sessions covered a spectrum of vital topics.

Ms. Manjusha Bhatnagar, in a virtual session, addressed the role of HR in carbon and carbon management, while Lalitendru Mohanty shared energy-efficient initiatives in the logistics sector. Prof. Dr. Nitai Chandra De, HAG Professor at IIEST, presented a hazard-based analysis of coal-based energy security under governmental regulation.

Anindya Chatterji from WEBEL elaborated on ESG excellence, net-zero commitments, and transparent sustainability reporting. Viraj Lal of Resilinc (UK), in a virtual address, discussed Agentic AI and its role in managing carbon footprints. C. Jaydev from Coal India Ltd. presented a case study on cost savings from energy efficiency in the coal sector. The final technical session, led by Prof. Pradip Sadhu from IIT Dhanbad (ISM), focused on the application of wireless battery charging systems for electric vehicles in both static and dynamic conditions for effective NOx, SOx, and carbon management.

Dr Debabrata Roy Abacus Institute of Engineering and Management demonstrated informative tutorial to the august audience. The entire day’s proceedings were anchored by Professor (Dr.), Amit Chakladar, who adeptly served as the pivotal role of tying all the deliberations to the theme of the day. Dr. Amit Chakladar kept the audience’s interest in the focus with relevant information and anecdotes.


The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Prasun Ganguly, followed by a group photo session, reinforcing a collective commitment toward a sustainable and profitable future. The seminar proved to be a meaningful and multidimensional engagement, offering practical insights and a shared vision for aligning carbon reduction strategies with long-term economic value.
